Today, Grizzly is an old healthy dog and a happy one. He loves to talk and let us know how he feels. He just loves treats of any kind since he found out what they are. He prefers non rawhide chews and is fascinated by soft blankets – another new experience – which he rolls up before laying on them. In fact, Grizzly would be happy with
anything. He is friendly and absolutely loves company.
Grizzly needs ongoing veterinary care, flea treatment, arthritis supplements. All those years living outside has taken a toll.
We hope you will consider sponsoring Grizzly. He truly is a sweet old guy!
Ella and Cooper lived in the owner’s trailer and never were outside so you can imagine how much he loves walks and rolling in the grass. He lives with Ella at Luke’s Hidden Haven, and she is in our veterinary sponsorship program as she has epilepsy and must be on medication.
Since coming to Luke’s, Cooper has been neutered and had very expensive dental surgery and a complete health check.
Cooper wants a sponsor since he needs ongoing routine veterinary care, flea treatment, little dog soft treats, toys (he loves those that squeak), a new winter coat, and more soft blankets as he likes to snuggle with Ella.
Sponsorship is $12 a month and would make Cooper even happier and more busy than he is now for sure.
A few years ago, Luke’s Hidden Haven received a phone call one evening in the middle of a thunderstorm from a frantic lady. There was a Pitbull sheltering in her garage and could we come as soon as possible. Edie, one of our volunteers, went to get the dog. Maunallen located the breeder who did not want the dog back. We found that her owner, a gas field worker, had left Pennsylvania without her. He didn’t want her and had just let her go. We were put in touch with the owner’s father, another gas field worker, and he definitely didn’t want her. This dog had been
running for about six weeks. It was summertime and she was hanging around a nearby campground looking for food. So, she came to stay at Luke’s Hidden Haven, and we named her Stormy.
We soon realized Stormy was a sweet girl. She is friendly, loves to cuddle, absolutely loves belly rubs and treats. She is picky about who she likes and dislikes and she really doesn’t like other dogs. Stormy has some emotional issues due to being badly mistreated before coming to Luke’s Hidden Haven and therefore not easily adoptable. Now, Stormy is settled and happy at Luke’s.
Stormy likes non rawhide bones, squeaky toys, marrow bones, and almost any treats. She is on special weight management food to keep her weight under control. Stormy is getting arthritic and would like a cozy dog bed and some helpful joint supplements.
Please consider sponsoring Zoe and Lucy separately or together for $12 a month per dog. They are healthy but need routine veterinary care, flea treatments, dental care treats, and maybe new collars, stuffed toys, squeaky toys, and soft chewies. All possible with sponsorship.
Hidden Haven a frightened, scared shell of her former self. Patience and love have transformed her. Today, she can run and play. She lives with her companion, the handsome feathered Saluki hound Arif, fondly known as Mr. Harry. Layla is loved, spoiled, and cherished. She still has deep emotional scars from her ordeal and ongoing veterinary needs. She enjoys small marrowbones and any non-rawhide toy. This beautiful affectionate girl is looking for a sponsor. Even though her ears were cut off close to her head, she remains as beautiful as ever to all of us at Luke’s Hidden Haven.
